the Deut. reading guide for this week...

Here's this week's reading guide for you! We continue in the "everyday G–D" series this coming Sunday in Deut. 15. Hope you get to hang out with God in the text this week before we study it together Sunday. Thankful for the way we are learning and living the ways of Jesus together through this series. Here are four questions we posed during yesterday's teaching in case you missed it:
- Could it be that our consuming desire "to go deeper" or to move beyond the essential and the elementary all too often should really be a warning sign for wanting to replace God rather than reside with Him?
- Could it be that we get distracted desiring to be treated like a favorite rather than being grateful that the God who does not play favorites chose to give us His love and affection and involve us in His mission?
- Could it be that we get distracted desiring more and more favor from God so much so that we forget to give more and more of God's love into the lives of others, especially the lonely and broken whom God cares about so much?
- Could it be that we get distracted desiring to be applauded for our own creations and accomplishments so much so that we forget to join the applause of the created for the Creator, highlighting His accomplishments among us?
May we remember WHO IS GOD and WHO GOD IS (Deut. 10:12–22).
