In preparation, please read Acts 19:8-10. Then, please pray through and consider these thoughts and prayers:
:: At the beginning of this year, we entered into a "Tyrannus" season as a church family calling for a commitment to make disciples and live sent together like never before.
:: We have recently had an opportunity possibly to merge with another local church expression called West Orange Baptist. That is not going to happen. We will share that update Sunday, but suffice it to say in this email "that He who started a good work in [us] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6).
:: Lord, may the Gospel become such a central topic of conversation in and among and through us that the everyday rhythms of our lives are transformed beyond Biblical knowledge and religious practice to Biblical community and relational generosity.
:: Father, thank You that as we believe in the One that was sent we are given the right to be called children of God. May we grow to be closer and closer as Your family thus committed to give Your love away unto the lonely of our world inviting them to be in Your family, too.
:: May we find 3 to 5 families in the Westpoint family to be family with, committing to passionately pray for each other and to deeply love each other through thick and thin.
:: May we then study the Scriptures together as a family for more than just greater Biblical knowledge, but rather in order to simply ask the question, "If this is true, how must we individually and together surrender to the Holy Spirit that adjustments might be made in our lives?"
:: And may we encourage each other and hold each other accountable to engage the lost in the pathways of our lives, praying for the lost together and for wisdom regarding how to proactively love and care for them, welcoming them into relationship with us like they are family, too.
Jesus, we are just one expression of Your church. May we commit like never before to be Your church together and to live sent daily as You have intended us to live - together on mission offering love and hope to those without it all to the glory of the Father.
I am SOOOOOOOO pumped up about what I am seeing in and among us as we have accepted the challenge of our emphasis this year to be obedient to follow Jesus together and love like He loves and make disciples of Him as we are going in the everyday.
Can't wait to pray and converse and worship and leave to live sent with you Sunday morning! Hope you can be there.
